e3: Happy Spring Equinox | Two New Classing Coming Soon

Transcript

Ash: Welcome back to a new episode of Inspired Visions. I'm your host, Ash King, and I finally felt inspired to record another episode today. It's been a while. I had so much energy when. For the show when I recorded those first two episodes, and then that energy kind of went into hibernation. And that makes sense because it was around some of the holidays.

Kids were home for weeks at a time here and there, and I had more demand between work and school [00:01:00] and the kids and all the various projects that I do. So I. I just left it where it was. I didn't try to push and like get angry about the show. I just let the energy flow and when it, the energy left, I left.

The episodes where they were. So now we're welcoming in spring and that new fresh energy and it's time to go, to show up, to be out there in the world and to share my art, my vision, and in this case, my inspired visions. So recently I had my first market of the season and it went so. Well, I felt so much great energy there.

It was the first time on the circuit, it was their first annual event, um, together in wellness at Hunt Hill and Serona, and it was amazing. I remember sitting there [00:02:00] at my booth looking around in between, you know, the people shopping, um, and just thought to myself like, wow. I feel like I'm actually part of this community.

I feel like I belong here. Like amazing things are gonna come from this. And it felt kinda weird to be feeling that because I've met friends in several other places here I have, you know, started working in person. I have created these smaller communities here and there. This was the place where I felt, now here, this is where I feel the community.

So that was, that was interesting. But it gave me so much more confidence and you know, assuredness that, and really just excitement to keep showing up in spaces like this and to keep making art and talking with people and sharing how art benefits each one of us. Um. So that excitement [00:03:00] was just, and that energy was really building for me while I was sitting there and it showed within people talking about me to other vendors or other vendors coming up to me and asking like, Hey, I saw you had this event before.

Will you have another one? Um. So it just felt like I could feel all those different connections around the room. And maybe it was the people that created the event, or maybe it was that it was a local event, a more local event or you know, maybe it was in fact just that space that I was meant to be in.

Maybe it was all of it. Um, but I'm thankful I was able to go and. Share my art there and feel comfortable and confident and connected. So it was an amazing event to get the season started off with. Now I can't wait to find more events to feel like that as well. And it's [00:04:00] this event, the preparation for it, and combined with the art Educators conference that I just attended, where I started thinking about shifting my card creator's coven class to something a little different.

Not to get rid of it or anything, just to adjust. It's been feeling. I wanna say limiting, but it feels like I'm trying to fit a bunch of things just into the wrong space or under the wrong title. So I'm gonna shift these practices into two different classes, to new classes to fit with what I want to share, what I want to teach, and how those things are shifting within me, within my business.

Uh, one class will be. Art for mindfulness and one will be art for divination. So yes, there will definitely be some overlap between [00:05:00] those just because of my beliefs and how I teach. But the two different focus points make sense to me and allow me to offer a wider range of topics and art forms and freedoms to create within those spaces.

And these will be in person classes because I am loving that so much more right now than trying to, you know, prerecord something or put something online. So I really like creating spaces where we can get together in person. Share with with each other in person and just feel that connection and that immediate feedback of if what I am saying is landing or not.

Um, when I'm teaching online or when I've prerecorded something, it's hard to get that feedback to say, to see what's lining or what needs a [00:06:00] little bit more explanation or. What sections need to go a little faster. So I really like these in-person spaces because we get that in the moment. They can ask questions, you can ask, you know, for more clarification or be like, oh, that's, that piece is interesting.

Can I hear more? And that, that's just so much nicer to me, um, in this moment. And why now? Why am I shifting these things now Because. We're shifting into spring. We just celebrated the spring equinox where day and night are equal, and as our northern hemisphere here is starting to tell more towards the sun, our days are starting to get longer.

We're starting to have more light. The plants are starting to regrow. Even here up north, we're having some days into the sixties and seventies, [00:07:00] and I don't know about you, but that makes me feel more energized. And I love the snow. I love the winter, I love the seasons, but that portion of the year is more about the hibernation.

And now that we're turning towards spring, it's energizing. It's, you know, it's ready to dig into the goals that I was starting to contemplate back around sa um. And I invite you to start looking at goals you've set or contemplated through a new lens. So if you were starting to set goals back in SA also, or back January, January 1st, I invite you to take a look at these again, see how they're still fitting with you.

See how they need to be adjusted. So how are these goals working with. The energy that is so fresh, so new. Now that we're in a new astrological year, [00:08:00] we are back in airy season, the start of the Zodiac. So what new projects are taking root? In what ways do you wish to shift the goals that you've set back in Soen or January?

You can pull some cards for yourself. Of course, that's one of my favorite ways. Pull some tower cards or some Oracle cards for this. Each of those questions, each of your goals, see what pops up. Or maybe even just sit in meditation and see what comes through. Just take that time to be mindful, to check back in with yourself, to check back in with life as in its current season, and see what needs to be shifted, what needs to be adjusted, and then move on from

there.

We'll be right back after this short break. Give back to [00:09:00] the basics. Let go and trust your intuition. Every card is blank in this tear deck. Ash: So coming back to these new art classes, I am way excited to dig deeper into what I want to share and how I want to share that. So.

For sure we'll be doing some geographic arts. I'll post some pictures on socials when this episode is live so you can [00:10:00] see what that looks like. Um, but maybe some art mixed with breath work, um, balancing the left and right sides of the brain. It's just small exercises you can do in the midst of anxiety or indecision or little art practices that can bring you back to center, back to calm.

I can see us creating junk journals and I am by no means a junk journaler. I, I'm not really even a fan of collage personally, but I do like the aesthetic of ones that I see other people doing and. When I was at the art educators conference, there's fantastic art teacher that I finally got to meet in person there.

Um, Tasha Newton, and she presented on art classes where she have students create these kind of bound books where, swear [00:11:00] that they have the hard covers, but they're using like jump rings to, they're not jump rings. I'm not sure what they're called. But they're binding their own books with these rings in order to create new pages where they talk about meditations, where they talk about different things that they've tried or learned and different mindful art practices that they've tried.

So it's a combination of art and journaling and a little of everything that they get to put into these. And I can see something like that. For these classes, maybe not these first couple, but I see that over time that we could grow in that direction to have something like that as part of it.

And then we have art for divination, which would include making the oracle and tarot cards just like we've done in card creators coven, but. [00:12:00] I can also see this, including things like designing your own pendulums or creating your own personal talismans. Um, creating art based off different forms of divination.

Even maybe something like a bibliomancy. I don't know if you've heard of that type of divination, but it's pretty fun to take a book, flip through it. And just stop at a random page without thinking about it and just see what your eye lands on first. Um, see what words or phrases pop up, and then use that as a prompt and create art from those words.

And I can even see this take turn towards a combination of art and astrology, of creating pieces that reflect who each of us is based on our birth charts, um, based on different [00:13:00] aspects of our charts, and just see what art comes through from looking at those aspects.

Each of these classes allow for so much space and growth over time, and they allow, pursue all of my various loves in the art and divination spaces. I, I am always feeling so pulled in. Um, so many different directions. I have so many different mediums that I like and so many that I would love to explore someday.

Um, but at the end of the day, it all comes back to art, to mindfulness, to mental health. It's how we express ourselves, how we see the world, and the lens in which we view this world. I see it through art and divination, and you might too. So if this sparks [00:14:00] your interest, if anything I talked about today sparks your interest, I invite you to leave a comment or send me a message on socials.

Share your interest in these topics. Ask questions. Ask how you can be a part of one of these events when I post them. And just reach out and start that conversation. I so look forward to keeping this podcast going. I will keep episodes kind of short. We'll see how it goes, and. I can't wait to see where this lead this year leads to because of this excitement built from this last event together in wellness and from my trip to the Art Educators Conference and maybe one of these episodes I'll talk about my experience there and the inspiration from that as well.

So, until next time, I'm Ash, and this is Inspired Visions.

[00:15:00] Thanks for tuning into Inspired Vision this week. I hope you enjoyed the episode. If something resonated with you during the show, I invite you to leave a comment or a review, comments or reviews, help others find the show, and together we can create a community for all of us to connect.
