Planning Around Samhain and Nature
I dove into the Akashic Records last night on the full moon. It was rainy so I couldn't see the moon, and this morning, as I'm typing this out, it's a rainy, dreary day. But the messages still align, and the ideas they spark make me want to just curl up and research all day.
This Thursday, October 29th, we are gathering in Spooner, Wisconsin, for a Samhain ritual that I'm sharing for the first time. It's a ritual that I've done for several years around following the seasons. Before that, the energy was there, where I'd slow down in August and September and then feel more energy and wanting to create this time of year. I didn't have words for it, but I felt it. Then it became just something fun because it's been called the Witches' New Year - Samhain - so just for fun I did more around the holiday. It started as a feeling, then became just for the aesthetic, and now is simply the way that makes the most sense and feels good.
What I got from my Akashic readings was that no one has to truly understand it all from my perspective. I am the guide that is hosting and creating the container. Each of you will gather your own understanding and exactly what you need from this experience. I guide; I share my truths and experiences; I don't preach.
I'll lead by story, sharing parts of the histories and myths of the movements and meditations (yes meditation, not medication like Instagram autocorrect likes to throw in every time), and planning.
These are the stories told in the darkness, the wild. We knew the direction, we knew the path, we knew when to move and when to slow. But manmade creation altered our direction. It changed the way the compass points. It shifted it just enough that we wouldn't question and would look the other way. Our ways died out. It's such a way to control the masses; to hold us back, isn't it? To tell us when we should plan, knowing that it isn't the best time, telling us when to dream and do, knowing we would fail.
If we are always uncomfortable, always searching, always feeling off balance, we can't really get anywhere. We feel stuck, like we are just treading mud.
It was easier to make everything linear. As societies grew, we needed a system to communicate around the world about when to arrive. But sometimes there's something in the calendars and schedules that just feels off. We are human. Our bellies tighten in fear and discomfort when we are told to be perfect, to follow the exact plan and schedule. We aren't meant to fit into these little boxes all the time. The whole world won't change for you, but you can make your own small changes to your personal world. We can create with the moon and the turning of the wheel. We can show up to appointments on time and also let go of the outdated notion that we must plan and create a whole new life on January 1st. We don't need to force our dreams and desires into small calendar slots. We can alter our own personal wheel of the year to follow the rhythms that feel good to our souls.
If you hear this call in the night. That voice that feels like its growing stronger, that there is something larger out there. The voice that has been telling you there is a dream worth having, a desire in the making. A little twinge that says you can do this; you just need to adjust course. This is your space. This is your call to reroot and try a new way of connecting to your intuition.
I hope you join us this week for this ritual. We won’t forget it anytime soon.
